Merry Christmas! 2012

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year from our home to yours!  Life is keeping us busy, and I am still not blogging regularly.  However I wanted to hop on here and post our Christmas 2012 card to say hello to everyone out there!

"The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26 (NASB)

Star Wars Party Preparation

A few months ago the boys decided they wanted to do a Star Wars Birthday Party! They have been so excited for it to arrive! I started keeping my eye out for some deals.

Birthday Invitations = Free with code from Shutterfly
I edited it in PSE and downloaded the free Star Wars fonts

Party Favors!
$1 pool noodle from Dollar Tree (cut into two)
$6 black and chrome duct tape
Marked, cut in half, cover the cut end with duct tape and let your creativity lead you for the handles!
(yes folks, that is my friend Beth the self proclaimed "least craftiest person" helping out)
We ordered this fun Darth Vader Pinata.
Since last year the boys have begged for one, so this year I gave in!
Water and Capri Sun labels I made in PSE in lime green and blue to match the cake
Thanks to Grammy for putting all the labels on!
normally $9.97 on Amazon plus $10 off code from Parenting Magazine

Happy Birthday sign and coordinating reusable vinyl table cloth from Old Navy

my "planets" for the kids to hit around with their Lightsabers
$1 each beach ball, $.96 each spray paint
{worked well, but when it was warmer outside the outsides became tacky to the touch}
the completed Lightsabers! Each kid got 2 each.
They turned out super cute and are VERY sturdy!

Stay tuned for pictures from the party!!!

Presenting - Denise Slater Photography

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing our Youth Pastor's Family. It was so much fun, their kiddos are adorable! I've had a dream for a long time to have my own photography business. As the boys have gotten older, I search out and find new ways to improve how I photograph. Dan and I prayed about it and decided that NOW would be a good time to "soft start" my business. Which means I am publishing the photos I have taken, along with sharing with friends and family on Facebook. The hope is to generate business through word of mouth. When the boys hit Kindergarten, I will then step it up with my own website, backdrops, and advertising.

So, please check it out! (click on the link below)

Thanks to everyone that has given such positive feedback! I've been really having fun :)

My Own Button!!!

It has been fun helping my cousin on the design side of her blog. I'm finding tutorials all over to help me with back end coding.

The other day I helped Jessica create some buttons for her blog. Then I decided I wanted to make some for myself!!!

FIRST - I added an email subscriptions to my blog! It is on the right side under the blue FOLLOW ME. You can always click "follow" on my blog if you want my blog to show up in your dashboard. However, if you don't have a blogger account OR want it emailed direct to you when I post - add your email to the subscriptions!!!! **special note** it will send you a verification confirmation to your email. Make sure and click on it to complete the registration. If you don't see it right away, check your spam for the email from "Feed Burner".

Back to my buttons....
Feel free to grab the code and add it to your blog. It will allow others to click on the button and come straight to my blog! How cool is that?!?!

This one is for my main blog...

GRAB THE CODE!

this one for my design blog (which I REALLY need to update)...

GRAB THE CODE!

and this one is for my reading blog...

GRAB THE CODE!

Need more specifics?

Well, if you have a Blogger/Blogspot blog, just go to yourDashboard, then Layout, then Page Elements and click on Add a Gadget.
